Global AIM Conference, 28-30 May 2012, Buenos Aires, Argentina

AIM IMPLEMENTATION OPPORTUNITIES
Following the Global AIM Congresses and the success achieved by our first Organization of the Global AIM Conference 2011 in Lisbon, this year of 2012, IFAIMA wishes to gather everyone in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the Global AIM Conference 2012. While some States are pretty much advanced on AIM Implementation, others haven’t quite really started and need all the help they can get. This event will be organized in collaboration with CPAAAAA - Argentinean AIM Association. The theme will be, “AIM Implementation Opportunities”. It’s important we continue to involve all the stakeholders on the procurement of these important objectives. A participation of around 200 persons originary from all over the AIM World will be there. An exhibition area parallel to the Conference will also be available where you can get acquainted with representatives of the industry and their state of the art AIM products. They will be there to provide and assist the participants with their expertise, demonstrating how their products work first hand. IFAIMA website will updated thouroughly, visit www.ifaima.org

Global AIM Conference 2011 - Conclusions and Recomendations

This message intends to let you know about the realization of IFAIMA Global AIM Conference 2011, its final Conclusions and Recomendations.
IFAIMA website was just updated with all the Presentations of the Conference.
Some people also started to put some pictures on Facebook, search for Global AIM Conference and you'll find them.
Finally, look for IFAIMA on Linked In and join the group. We're planning to start some useful work there and we need everybody's participation.
We hope to see everybody, if not before, at least on Buenos Aires, next years Conference location.
Best Regards

Conclusions

- Institutional issues, particularly funding and cost recovery for the transition from AIS to AIM were a great concern;
- Well trained AIS personnel aligned with the AIM concept including their licensing were considered necessary;
- Implementation of new tools, data handling techniques and standard practices are essential;
- Some ICAO Regions need improvements namely through the implementation of Centralized Data Bases similar to the EAD;
- Share information experiences for better understanding of common problems is essential for the States;
- States and other organizations, such as Eurocontrol and CANSO are truly committed by supporting ICAO for the transition from AIS to AIM;
- ICAO AIMSG is doing a good work and complying with the planning;
- Annual meetings to evaluate and study the entire situation of the AIS/AIM issue should be considered by the IFAIMA and National Associations;
- IFAIMA is open to support ICAO and the appropriate organizations for the AIM projects implementation towards the future;
- Industry is aware and prepared for the future challenges of the AIM.

Recomendations

- That IFAIMA continue to support ICAO, EASA, Eurocontrol and other organizations in the AIM business;
- That AIS associations make all the efforts to sensitize the appropriate authorities to provide the budgets with the enough funds to allow the AIM migration implementation programs;
- That some ICAO Regions should speed up the implementation of centralized Data Bases as an important measure to facilitate the AIM transition;
- That IFAIMA continue to organize such conferences to strengthen AIM.

Global AIM Conference, 27-29 June, Lisbon, Portugal

Following the organisation of the Global AIM Congresses started in Madrid 2006 and ended in Beijing 2010 by the Global AIM Consortium, IFAIMA recognises the success of those events throughout all the AIM community. In collaboration with APTICA - Portuguese AIM Association, IFAIMA decided to come forward and propose the continuation of such AIM events. While some States are pretty much
advanced on AIM Implementation, others haven’t quite really started and need all the help they can get.

Our proposal is to organise the event with the theme “AIM Implementation”. It’s important we continue to involve all the stakeholders and this is why we are pleased to invite you all to be present in Lisbon where you can also enjoy the famous Portuguese summer and nice beaches.

Complete Information about the Conference is now available on http://www.ifaima.org/.
